The ancient Greek Gods and Goddess contain a wealth of stories and legends, wrapped in Myths which typically provide a story with a morale code designed to influence the reader into behaviour as fitting Greek culture of the era.
In this article, we look at Cranaechme and the myths and legends surrounding Cranaechme, Cranaechme relationship to and with other Greek Gods and Goddess and key events and stories which relate to ancient astrology and the changing seasons.
Was the mythical daughter of Cranaus and Pedias, with her two sisters Cranae and Atthis they formed the triad of rugged coastline goddesses. It is reported that certain cult practices associated with Athena took place on the rugged cliffs that overhung the sea. Basically, a sacrificial victim was thrown from the cliffs, it was said that the victim may have had birds tied to him, as Diver birds were sacred to Athena, he may also have had a kind of parasol in his hand, these things were apparently to help break the fall. But there were evil cults prior to these times, when temples and beacons were built in such places, under the pretence of warning ships of the dangers. But if ships floundered or hapless sailors should go ashore to the temples in order to sacrifice to the gods for safe passage, they we liable to end up being sacrificed themselves and what remained of them was flung from the cliff tops. But I will deal with that in more detail in the appropriate place.
